So many things in flower in Central at the minute 🙌! Here's but a few. Gyrostemon ramulosus (Camel Poison Bush), Goodeneaceae something-or-other, Pandora dorataxylon (Spearbush), Hakea spp., Santalum lanceolatum (Plum Bush), Olearia ? ferresii (Daisy Bush), Cymbopogon ? ambiguus (Australian Lemon-scented Grass; wish I'd smelt it to check), Acacia ? tetragonophylla (Dead Finish), Trichodesma zeylanicum (Cattle Bush) and Lysiana spp. All names are educated guesses, at best. #flowers #centralaustralia #holiday #camping #mammalovestheoutback #mammaknowsplants
A few flower snaps taken during brief driving breaks. Swainsonia (not sure which one) spp., Ptilotus (also no idea) spp., Eremophila (could be) latrobei (Native Fuchsia), Ptilotus polystachyus (Longtails), Eremophila (could be several) spp., Ptilotus exaltatus (Tall Mulla Mulla), prolly Acacia aneura (Mulga), might be Ptilotus helipteroides (Hairy Mulla Mulla) and Schoenia cassiniana (Pink Everlasting). #driving #breaks #flowers #sturthighway #southaustralia #mammalovestheoutback #mammaknowsplants
Happy birthday to me, I found a Sturt Desert Pea (rhymes)! Big bucket list - tick 🙌! #itsmybirthday #andifoundit #sturtdesertpea #inthebush #swainsoniaformosa #glendambo #bucketlisttick #mammaknowsplants
Australian Arid Lands Botanic Gardens 🥰! Commersonia magniflora (Pink Fire-bush), Crotalaria cunninghamii (Bidflower), Eremophila rotundifolia (Round Leaf Eremophila), Senna glutinosa subsp. chatelainiana, Eremophila recurva, Boronia crenulata (Aniseed Boronia), Eremophila hillii (Hills Emu Bush), Eucalyptus krueseana (Book-leaf Mallee) and Eremophila platycalyx subsp. platycalyx. Name all according to the signs. #aridlands #botanicgarden #holiday #startshere #flowers #inwinter #australianplants #mammaknowsplants
Hovea montana (Alpine Hovea), bunch of dead Snow Gum trunks, Gaultheria appressa (Wax-berry), waterfall busting with bryophytes, Prostanthera cuneata (Alpine Mint-bush), chairlifts at sunset, that lichen that grows all over old Snow Gum, mountain views and a sunrise.
Few nice flowers from the field last week. Spyridium daltonii (Grampians Spyridium; Vic. Endangered), Cyanothamnus nanus var. pubescens (Grampians Boronia; Vic. Endangered), Correa reflexa var. angustifolia (Grampians Correa; Vic. Endangered), Eucalyptus sabulosa (Wimmera Scentbark; Vic. Vulnerable) and Olearia floribunda (Heath Daisy-bush; just a bog standard normal, non-listed plant, but still lovely to see in flower!). #niceplants #fromthefield #lastweek #rhamnaceae #andotherthings #vicflora #macros #flowers #inautumn #mammaknowsplants
